Home Remedies to Combat Hair Loss

Here are some effective home remedies that will help combat hair loss

Coconut milk
Coconut milk is a common ingredient in shampoos and hair oils and that is because of the moisturizing abilities the coconut milk has. It works as magic as one of the main reasons for hair loss is dry scalp and coconut milk helps fight this issue. It helps in naturally reversing the fall of hair and also provides good health to hair follicles. The most effective way to apply coconut milk on the hair is by applying it to the roots and letting it sit for about 10 minutes every day.

Green tea
Dihydrotestosterone is one of the most common reasons for hair loss and green tea helps in reducing its content. The usage of green tea on the hair improves the texture of the hair and also prevents hair loss. In addition, it also helps in fighting dandruff and moisturizes the hair, thereby combatting dryness of the scalp which is mostly caused due to usage of chemicals. In addition, green tea has polyphenols that promote regrowth of hair and also makes hair follicles healthy.

Fenugreek seeds
A hair mask can be made out of fenugreek seeds and it can be one of the effective home remedies for hair loss. The following method can be used to apply fenugreek seeds to the hair.

  • Leave 2 tablespoons of fenugreek seeds soaked overnight in a cool environment.
  • Grind the seeds in the morning, make it into a paste using the same water. This will make the paste slimy which gives shine to the hair.
  • Apply it on the hair roots and let it sit for 20 minutes. You can massage a little and then rinse with a mild shampoo.

Fenugreek seeds help solve dandruff issues and also provide smooth and shiny hair.

Oats
Including a bowl of oats in your morning meal can prove to be very beneficial for the regrowth of hair and reduction of hair loss. Oats have a high content of fiber, zinc, omega-6 fatty acids, and PUFAs (polyunsaturated fatty acids). These make the hair healthy and also stimulates regrowth of hair.

Walnuts
Walnuts are the only nuts that are rich in biotin, B vitamins namely B1, B6, and B9, vitamin E, and protein, and magnesium. These provide strength to the cuticles of the hair and also strengthen the scalp. They also protect the hair from damage done due to exposure to the sun. Walnuts can be consumed individually or as part of meals.
